Srinagar, August 01 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has urged the Governor S P Malik to look into the grievances of agitating Anganwari workers and other casual labourers. According to a statement issued to KNO, Anganwari Welfare Forum called on JKPCC President G A Mir and sought his intervention in releasing their pending wages, besides ensuring redressal of other grievances they were confronted with. Mir expressed serious concern over the hardships confronting Anganwari Workers and similarly situated Casual Labourers serving in PHE and other departments for a long time, he said. Emphasizing the Governor Malik to address their concerns before the auspicious occasion of Eid Ul Azha, Mir said Anganwari Workers, as reported, were not being paid their wages regularly which has forced them to agitate on roads, besides there were pending wages, which the Govt should clear to ensure that they could be able to sustain their families. The workers were deeply involved in social activities, they need to be facilitated to continue with their work, Mir added and urged that Govt should make serious efforts to release and enhance their monthly wages.(KNO)
